The role

Bauer Media Outdoor is part of Bauer Media Group, one of Europe's largest media operators, with Publishing, Audio and Outdoor businesses across 16 countries. Our UK Outdoor business is a market leader, with more than 30,000 advertising sites in our portfolio. Our talented team of over 600 people work in 14 locations across the country, creating and delivering some of the most memorable advertising campaigns in the UK.

At Bauer Media Outdoor, we are committed to Creating the Future of Media. We're at the forefront of change in our industry, making innovative use of technology and realising the potential of Out of Home media.

We're looking for a Technical Graphic Designer to support our Planning Team and wider Portfolio Department, producing the technical drawings and visual materials that help bring our advertising locations to life.

What You'll Be Doing...

As our Technical Graphic Designer, you'll prepare accurate, high-quality plans, drawings and visualisations to accompany applications for advertisement consent and planning permission.

Working closely with the Planning Team and colleagues across the Portfolio Department, you'll translate site information and product details into clear, consistent application materials. Your work will help demonstrate proposed advertising installations within their surroundings and support the development of new and existing locations.

You'll also be responsible for

  • Preparing location plans and site plans, clearly identifying application boundaries, proposed installations and relevant surrounding features
  • Producing product elevation drawings that accurately illustrate dimensions, positioning and appearance
  • Preparing product specification documents using approved technical information supplied by relevant colleagues and suppliers
  • Creating realistic mock-ups and photomontages showing proposed advertising installations in their intended settings
  • Using current industry-standard plan-production, drafting and image-editing software to produce professional, consistent outputs
  • Checking drawings and visual materials for accuracy, appropriate scale, clarity and consistency before passing them to the Planning Team
  • Updating drawings and supporting materials in response to design changes, internal feedback or requests for additional information from local authorities
  • Working with Portfolio and Construction colleagues to obtain the photographs, measurements and technical information needed to complete each brief
  • Maintaining organised drawing files, templates and revision records so that colleagues can readily identify the latest approved documents
  • Managing multiple requests and agreeing priorities with the Planning Team to meet application deadlines
  • Helping improve drawing templates and production processes to support efficient, consistent delivery

Who are you?

You'll combine strong technical drawing skills with a keen visual eye and excellent attention to detail. You'll be comfortable interpreting measurements, photographs and product information, turning them into clear plans and realistic visualisations.

You'll be organised, practical and collaborative, with the confidence to clarify a brief, identify missing information and keep colleagues informed of progress. You'll take pride in producing accurate work while managing competing deadlines.

You'll need

  • Experience producing technical drawings, scaled plans and supporting visual materials in a professional setting
  • Proficiency in current industry-standard AutoCAD drawing package or equivalent plan-production software
  • Experience using Promaps
  • Experience using image-editing and graphic-design software to create mock-ups and photomontages
  • The ability to interpret site measurements, technical specifications and product drawings accurately
  • A sound understanding of drawing scales, dimensions, layout and presentation
  • Strong organisational skills, including effective file management and version control

It would also be helpful to have

  • Experience preparing drawings for planning permission or advertisement consent applications
  • Familiarity with local authority requirements for location plans, site plans and elevations
  • Experience within Out of Home advertising, architecture, planning, construction or a related design environment

What's in it for you?

  • Salary is £40,000 - £45,000 DOE plus 10% annual bonus
  • Working hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm
  • Hybrid working arrangements: 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home
  • Enjoy 25 paid holidays, plus those well need bank holidays!
  • Company Pension Scheme Contribution of up to 8%
  • Stay healthy with our Healthcare Cash Plan
  • Life Insurance and group income protection scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme + Enjoy travel/season ticket loans and exclusive discounts with hundreds of retailers
  • Make a difference with our charity volunteer days. It feels great to give back!

At Bauer Media Outdoor, we are committed to treating everyone with fairness and respect, regardless of their race, gender, age, ethnicity, background, sexual orientation, disability or any other differences. We work hard to foster an inclusive environment — a place where you can be yourself.

We support reasonable adjustment requests from candidates and employees. If you're interested in joining us to shape the future of Out of Home media, we'd love to hear from you.
