As part of the design team at SPG, the Junior Graphic Designer will assist in creating all manner of print and digital assets, from photos, flyers, packaging, and more. The primary goal of the role is to manage and produce high quality content for a variety of brands under the SPG banner; these bulk production processes and tasks are paramount for the smooth function of the team and are pivotal for the success of the company. Additionally, the Junior Graphic Designer will assist in maintaining brand style guides and generating consistent and quality work that elevates and further solidifies SPG as an industry leader.


The Junior Graphic Designer will work with other Designers, Managers, and Photographers, and report to the Director of Marketing.


  

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions

  • Participate in bulk production tasks in photography and design.
  • Collaborate with design team to create all manner of marketing materials.
  • Edit photography and process assets for web retail and partners.
  • Support catalog creation with product and lifestyle image processing, and content input.
  • Maintain, name, and organize files to bring consistency within internal organization systems.
  • Build brand specific merchandizing materials such as packaging, banners, and signage.
  • Participate in team critiques and design reviews, offering feedback and design notes.
  • Helps with mockups, renders, prep, and other pivotal processes that support the design team.
  • Build and edit image assets in photoshop, filtering, and adjustments where needed.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A portfolio of relevant work (Print & Digital)
  • Skills with the Adobe Design Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Has a passion for design with a collaborative problem-solving mindset, with ability to digest feedback to improve performance.
  • Good conceptual skills
  • Knowledge of design principles and typography.
  • Good communication skills, interpersonal skills, and optimism.
  • Ability to work with a team, and to enthusiastically take part in creative processes. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design strongly preferred.
  • One (1) year experience from freelance or relative design school experience preferred.
  • Internship at an entry-level graphic design role a bonus.
  • Self-motivated work ethic, detail oriented, and able to work autonomously.
  • Able to enthusiastically meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to assess, organize, and manage complex processes.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to work within prescribed guidelines and style guides.
