About ZOVU
Restaurants have enough on their plate. Their software should make life easier.
At ZOVU, we're building the Operating System for the modern restaurant. Our vision is simple: one connected experience for Point of Sale, loyalty, reservations, staff tools and a customer app.
Our partnership model is built around a transaction margin on sales, so our growth is tied to the restaurants we serve.
We're an early-stage, fully remote startup with big ambitions and plenty to build. If you enjoy creating beautiful, minimal visuals and believe great design comes from getting the smallest details right, you'll feel at home here.
The Role
We're looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic & Visual Design Intern to help bring ZOVU's visual identity to life across social media, marketing and our digital products.
If you find yourself perfecting spacing, adjusting typography or removing unnecessary elements until a design feels just right, we'd love to see your work.
You'll create engaging social media graphics, promotional materials, illustrations, icons and visual assets for our POS, reservation platform and other applications.
Our design philosophy is simple: less, but better.
We aim for a modern, minimal and premium visual experience inspired by the clarity and simplicity of beautifully designed consumer applications.
Our style focuses on
- Generous Whitespace: Giving every element room to breathe rather than filling every available space.
- Clean, Modern Typography: Clear hierarchy, carefully chosen font weights and excellent readability.
- Minimalist Composition: Simple layouts that communicate clearly without unnecessary decoration.
- Soft, Refined Details: Thoughtful rounded corners, subtle shadows, balanced proportions and precise alignment.
- Restrained Colour: Neutral foundations, carefully selected accents and strong visual contrast.
- Visual Consistency: A unified design language across our applications, marketing materials and brand identity.
You'll work closely with our Product Design team, translating creative direction, Figma layouts and existing guidelines into polished graphical assets.
This is primarily a graphic and visual design role, not a UI/UX position. You won't be responsible for user research or defining application workflows. Instead, you'll focus on visual execution and creating assets that make both our products and our brand feel exceptional.
What Excites You
- Minimalist Design: You believe simplicity is a strength and enjoy creating clean, elegant and visually balanced designs.
- Making Every Detail Count: You care about typography, whitespace, alignment and the subtle differences between good and great design.
- Building a Brand from the Ground Up: You're excited to help establish a recognisable visual identity across multiple platforms.
- Creating for Different Platforms: You enjoy designing everything from social media campaigns to icons and illustrations for software applications.
- Turning Direction into Beautiful Work: You like taking ideas, references and guidelines and transforming them into professional visuals.
- Learning from Other Designers: You welcome creative feedback and enjoy refining your work through collaboration.
What Excites Us
- A Strong Visual Portfolio: Your work demonstrates clean layouts, thoughtful composition, typography, excellent spacing and a consistent design style.
- An Eye for Minimalism: You understand how to create premium-looking visuals without relying on excessive colours, effects or decorative elements.
- Confidence with Design Tools: You're comfortable with Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or similar professional design tools.
- Social Media Design Skills: You can create engaging and visually consistent graphics for platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn and other marketing channels.
- Digital Product Awareness: You can create icons, illustrations and graphical assets that fit naturally into modern SaaS and mobile applications.
- Attention to Detail: You notice inconsistent margins, misaligned elements, typography issues and visual imbalances.
- Consistency and Organisation: You can follow established guidelines, maintain organised design files and prepare assets for developers or marketing use.
- Curiosity and Communication: You ask useful questions, welcome feedback and communicate clearly in English.
Bonus points: Experience with motion graphics, animations, branding systems, digital product design or modern SaaS applications. Familiarity with Adobe After Effects or similar tools is especially welcome.
