About ZOVU
Restaurants have enough on their plate. Their software should make life easier.
At ZOVU, we're building the Operating System for the modern restaurant. Our vision is simple: one connected experience for Point of Sale, loyalty, reservations, staff tools and a customer app.
Our partnership model is built around a transaction margin on sales, so our growth is tied to the restaurants we serve.
We're an early-stage, fully remote startup with big ambitions and plenty to build. If you enjoy creating beautiful visuals, bringing brands to life and making digital products feel polished and consistent, you'll feel at home here.
The Role
We're looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic & Visual Design Intern to help shape how ZOVU looks and feels across social media, marketing and our digital products.
If you find yourself adjusting typography, perfecting layouts or experimenting with visuals until everything feels just right, we'd love to see your work.
You'll create engaging social media graphics, marketing assets, illustrations, icons and visual elements for our POS, reservation platform and other applications.
You'll work closely with our Product Design team, following existing design directions, brand guidelines and Figma layouts to produce polished graphics that fit naturally into our products.
Our visual style is calm, modern and minimal: clear typography, generous whitespace, precise alignment, thoughtful composition and restrained colour. Your challenge is to bring that feeling consistently across everything we create.
This is a graphic and visual design role, not a UI/UX position. You won't be responsible for user research, product architecture or designing complete application workflows. Instead, you'll focus on creating high-quality visual assets that support the work of our UI/UX designers and marketing team.
What Excites You
- Creating Beautiful Visuals: You enjoy working with typography, colour, composition and imagery to create professional, engaging designs.
- Building a Brand from the Ground Up: You're excited to contribute to the visual identity of a growing technology startup.
- Designing for Digital Products: You like creating icons, illustrations and graphics that make applications feel polished and consistent.
- Turning Ideas into Reality: You enjoy taking creative direction and transforming it into finished designs.
- Getting the Details Right: You care about alignment, spacing, visual balance and the small details that make a design feel complete.
- Growing Through Feedback: You enjoy collaborating with other designers, improving your work and developing your creative skills.
What Excites Us
- A Strong Visual Portfolio: You've created graphics, branding materials, social media content or digital illustrations through internships, freelance work, university projects or personal projects.
- A Great Eye for Design: You understand typography, spacing, composition, colour theory and visual hierarchy. Your work demonstrates attention to detail.
- Confidence with Design Tools: You're comfortable working with Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva or similar tools.
- Social Media Creativity: You can create engaging visuals for platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn and other digital marketing channels.
- Digital Product Awareness: You understand how graphic elements fit within websites and applications, and can follow existing UI designs and guidelines.
- Consistency and Organisation: You can maintain a consistent visual style, prepare assets in appropriate formats and keep your design files organised.
- Curiosity and Communication: You welcome feedback, ask useful questions and communicate clearly in English.
Bonus points: You've worked on SaaS products, mobile applications or technology brands. Experience with motion graphics, animations, Adobe After Effects or creating marketing campaigns is especially welcome.
Internship Details & Growth
This is a hands-on internship where you'll develop your visual design skills through practical work, feedback and collaboration with our Product Design team.
- Duration: Three months.
- 100% Remote: Collaborate with us from your own workspace.
- Time Zones: No time-zone overlap is required. Clear communication and regular progress updates are important.
- Availability: Ideally 32 hours per week.

- Guidance: You'll receive design direction, feedback and support from our team.
- Future Opportunities: As ZOVU develops, further opportunities may become available depending on performance, mutual fit, team needs and budget. A paid or permanent role is not guaranteed.
The Good Stuff!
- A Direct Connection to the Team: Work alongside our Product Design team, developers and founders.
