We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented Product & Graphic Designer to help bring our upcoming collections to life.

About the Role

We’re seeking a creative designer with a strong eye for color, pattern, illustration, and product development to collaborate on original mahjong tile collections, coordinating playing mats, and other lifestyle accessories.

This is a remote, project-based contract opportunity with the potential for an ongoing creative partnership as our brand continues to grow.

The ideal candidate has a sophisticated design aesthetic, strong technical skills, and the ability to translate creative concepts and inspiration into original, production-ready artwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Design original artwork and illustrations for American mahjong tile collections, including suits, decorative elements, and coordinating patterns.
• Develop unique playing mat designs featuring custom patterns, colors, and luxury-inspired details.
• Translate mood boards, creative briefs, and inspiration into cohesive product collections.
• Create detailed vector artwork and production-ready files for manufacturing.
• Develop product mockups, color variations, and design presentations.
• Refine existing designs based on manufacturer samples, production limitations, and creative feedback.
• Collaborate directly with the founder to ensure all designs align with Salt Ivory’s visual identity.
• Maintain consistency across product collections while introducing fresh, creative concepts.

Qualifications

* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Strong illustration, vector design, and surface pattern design skills.
• Experience designing physical products, textiles, prints, accessories, or consumer goods.
• Exceptional understanding of color theory, composition, typography, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to create precise, detailed artwork suitable for manufacturing and printing.
• Experience translating creative direction into original, commercially viable designs.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
• A portfolio showcasing relevant design work is required.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience designing playing cards, mahjong tiles, board games, or other illustrated products.
• Experience in luxury lifestyle, home décor, fashion, or accessories.
• Knowledge of repeat patterns and textile or playing mat design.
• Familiarity with overseas manufacturing and preparing artwork for production.
• An appreciation for coastal-inspired, timeless, and elevated design.
