Graphic Designer (Design Systems)

OKAPI is a product design & development company that helps startups and established enterprises turn their ideas into polished products.

We are looking for a Graphic Designer with strong design systems experience: someone who builds scalable component libraries in Figma, understands how components live in code, and works hand in hand with developers.

What You Bring

• 3+ years as a Graphic / UI Designer on digital products
• Proven experience building and maintaining design systems (tokens, components, documentation)
• Advanced Figma skills: components, variants, auto layout, variables, libraries
• Strong foundations in typography, color, grids and iconography
• Working knowledge of HTML & CSS; React, Storybook or Tokens Studio are a plus
• WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA: familiarity with accessibility guidelines
• Hands-on experience with AI tools in your design workflow (e.g. Figma AI, Codex/Claude Code), even if just experimenting
• Basic knowledge of Git and how developers work with a shared component library
• A portfolio with design system and product UI work
• Good spoken and written English

What You'll Do

• Build and evolve component libraries and design tokens
• Design UI and prototypes for web and mobile products
• Document components and usage guidelines
• Work closely with developers and review what gets built
• Make small HTML/CSS tweaks or prototype components in code when needed
