The role
About the job
You will join B&C Production, the team that turns briefs into the visual and physical communication for both GEEK Up and Geek Adventure. Your role is to transform brand and marketing briefs into clear, consistent visual communication across digital and physical touchpoints, including social, presentations, video, print and events.
You will work from written briefs and existing brand guidelines. When a brief is unclear or has no reference, you will get direction support from the brand team, and we expect you to bring your own visual approach and reasoning to the table.
Job DescriptionVisual Direction
- Develop visual concepts and creative directions based on briefs, references and existing brand guidelines.
- Build moodboards and set visual hierarchy, so others can continue your work.
- Explain and defend your visual choices, and propose an approach with clear reasons rather than only executing ready-made ideas.
Production
- Develop key visuals and adapt them across sizes, layouts and surfaces without losing hierarchy.
- Produce digital communication assets: social posts, banners, digital ads, presentation templates, covers and carousels.
- Shoot and edit basic social video (reels, event recaps, employer branding content).
- Select or shoot photography for events, internal activities and social content.
- Prepare print and physical assets (publications, POSM, stationery, event collateral) to printer specifications.
- Check every piece against our output standard before handover: one clear message, a clear focal point, a headline readable in about three seconds, hierarchy that supports the CTA, and correct export.
Brand System Application
- Apply the GEEK Up and Geek Adventure identity systems correctly, and keep the two systems separate.
- Apply existing guidelines to new formats, and flag where guidelines are not enough.
- Propose a sensible approach in those cases before aligning with the brand owner.
Work Management
- Review each brief on receipt and ask for what is missing (goal, message, format, tone, reference) instead of guessing.
- Estimate on receipt and keep your commitment. When a deadline is tight, propose trade-offs on scope, time or quality.
- Know which decisions are yours (how it looks) and which belong to brand owners (message, identity, conflicts between two brands), and escalate the latter.
RequirementExperience
- 3+ years of experience in graphic or brand/visual design (in-house, agency or a tech/service company).
- A portfolio showing key visual development and adaptation across multiple formats.
- Solid, consistent digital assets (social, banners, ads, presentation templates, carousels).
- Discipline on output quality and technical delivery (export, specs, readability).
- Visual concept and art direction thinking, with a moodboard and hierarchy you can explain.
- Basic video production skills (shooting and editing social video).
- Ability to keep brand consistency, especially across more than one brand.
Nice to have
- Photography (events, internal activities, simple social content).
- Print production (specification, proofing, working with printers).
- Extending brand guidelines to new formats (new social templates, landing pages, event assets).
Skill
- Self-managing, and proactive in proposing ideas rather than waiting for instructions.
- Clear communication: asks the right questions, explains trade-offs, flags risks early.
- Works well with several requesters and stakeholders.
- Comfortable with transparency and peer review before publishing.
