About Nike

Nike started as a track program between a University of Oregon runner and his coach, betting that better shoes could change how athletes perform. That runner, Phil Knight, and coach Bill Bowerman built it into the sportswear category's defining name, the one competitors are still measured against. Today, under CEO Elliott Hill and headquartered in Beaverton, Nike's Swoosh sits on footwear, apparel, and equipment sold worldwide, a symbol as recognizable as the sports it outfits.
