About A-Frame Brands

A-Frame Brands builds the brands culture wants next. We partner with leading retailers like Target, Walmart, and Bath & Body Works to create and scale brands across beauty, personal care, fragrance, wellness, and more. Combining strategy, creative, product development, and manufacturing under one roof, we turn emerging consumer trends into differentiated products at speed. Built on our experience launching brands with John Legend, Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade, and Naomi Osaka, we bring culture, innovation, and commerce together to build what's next.

About the Role

We're looking for a Director of Creative & Design to lead creative development across A-Frame's growing portfolio of brands and partnerships.

You'll shape how new brands and products come to life, from early-stage creative concepts and visual identities to packaging and launch assets. This is a creative leadership role with a strong hands-on design foundation. You'll own the creative vision, direct external creative resources, and have the skills to jump into design execution when needed.

The ideal candidate brings exceptional design taste, strategic thinking, technical expertise, and an entrepreneurial mindset. You're equally excited by developing a big creative idea and figuring out how

to bring it to life.

What You'll Own

Brand & Concept Development

  • Develop mood boards, visual explorations, creative concepts, and brand identities for new brands, products, and category extensions.
  • Translate brand strategy, consumer insights, and partner positioning into compelling visual identities and design systems.
  • Create brand presentations, concept decks, mockups, visualizations and in-store merchandising designs to bring creative concepts to life across consumer touchpoints.
  • Establish and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across packaging and key brand touchpoints.
  • Present creative concepts and recommendations to internal leadership and external brand partners.

Packaging Design & Production

  • Lead primary and secondary packaging design from initial concepts through final production-ready artwork.
  • Develop and oversee packaging systems, typography, color palettes, materials, finishes, and components.
  • Work confidently with dielines, component drawings, mechanical artwork, specifications, and vendor templates.
  • Ensure designs are commercially and technically feasible, partnering with New Launch Management and vendors as needed.
  • Review proofs, samples, and production files to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.

Creative Leadership & Operations

  • Provide creative direction and actionable feedback to freelance designers and external creative partners, while contributing hands-on design work when needed.
  • Manage multiple creative projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining high design standards.
  • Bring a resourceful, solutions-oriented approach to creative challenges in a fast-moving environment.
  • Leverage AI and emerging creative tools for ideation, concept development, visualization, and workflow efficiencies.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in brand design, art direction, or creative direction, ideally within beauty, personal care, fragrance, lifestyle, or consumer packaged goods.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design fundamentals across brand identity, packaging, and creative concept development.
  • A hands-on designer who has grown into creative leadership, with experience directing projects and providing feedback to other designers.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and familiarity with Figma.
  • Strong understanding of packaging production, print processes, dielines, mechanical artwork, and production-ready file preparation.
  • Strong creative instincts and a clear point of view, with the ability to confidently present and communicate design decisions.
  • Highly resourceful, organized, and comfortable working across multiple brands with different aesthetics, audiences, and creative needs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience at a creative agency, startup, or multi-brand company.
  • Experience developing new brands or extending established brands into new product categories.
  • Experience designing for mass or prestige retail.
  • Experience with 3D visualization, rendering, motion design, or content creation.

Work Environment

Professional office environment involving routine use of computers and standard office equipment, periods of sitting, standing, walking, and bending, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
