The role

Before anyone books a garden pavilion or reserves a chef's counter, a photograph has already made the pitch. Gaia Digital Agency (GDA) is now hiring an art director to make that pitch land for the hospitality names on our roster, so each one looks like nobody else.

Meet GDA

Ours is a Bali agency with its home base in Ubud, where a single team handles content production, social channels, web builds, paid ads, AI tools and SEO for clients. Lodging and food brands account for much of that list, though we also serve companies outside travel.

Where and how

Expect a full-time schedule worked in person from the GDA office in Ubud. Defining the visual language for each account falls to you, along with mentoring the designers and editors producing the work, and approving what goes out before it reaches the public. Quality across our creative output will be yours to protect.

Day to day

  • Shaping each brief into a concept, a moodboard and a shooting plan that a crew can follow
  • Running productions at properties, whether that means a villa bedroom, a spa treatment room or a busy open kitchen
  • Reviewing layouts, videos and photo selects, then giving feedback people can act on fast
  • Building style rules so a brand stays consistent from its grid to its booking page to its ads
  • Pitching your thinking in English to each client and refining it once they respond
  • Collaborating with ad specialists, social leads and web developers so the visuals help fill rooms and tables

Who fits

  • Years spent as the person making final creative calls, with an AD or creative lead title
  • Published work for lodging or dining brands: hotels, resorts, villas, restaurants, cafes or bars
  • A sharp eye for light, composition, type and portrait-format video
  • A track record of mentoring less experienced designers, photographers or video editors
  • Comfortable English, written and verbal, for pitching to clients and leading reviews with the team

Why this role

Your work will be seen by holidaymakers and food lovers constantly. You get to guide the look of a varied roster while working beside SEO, social and web people who understand how hospitality earns money.
