The role

Pony is a London-based branding agency creating brand identities and digital experiences for ambitious technology companies around the world. We work with some of the fastest-growing technology companies in the world, building distinctive brands and digital experiences that help them scale, stand out and lead their categories.

We're looking for a Brand Design Intern to join our studio. This is a paid, full-time, hybrid internship built around learning, for recent graduates and self-taught designers at the very start of their careers. It's focused purely on branding: brand identities, visual systems and brand assets.

We're not looking for the finished article. We're looking for ambition, drive and curiosity: someone who has already been experimenting with AI on their own, simply because they couldn't help it, and who has an eye for brand and taste they want to sharpen. Bring that, and we'll invest in you.

You'll learn by doing, on live projects alongside a small, senior team, with mentoring and honest feedback every step of the way. The role is based in London, with three days a week in our studio at Design District and two days remote. Depending on your performance and what you show us, the internship may lead to a full-time role at Pony.

What you'll learn

By the end of your internship, you'll understand how a brand identity goes from first idea to finished system, and you'll have real work to show for it.

  • How brand identities are built, from first concepts to logos, typography, colour and full visual systems
  • Typography, layout and composition, taught hands-on by senior designers
  • How to develop ideas, present them and explain the thinking behind them
  • How a senior studio uses AI on real client work, and how to build it into your own process
  • How to take feedback, iterate and push work from good to great
  • How a studio runs, from client briefs and deadlines to final delivery
  • What it's really like to build brands for ambitious technology companies

What you'll do

Alongside our team, you'll:

  • Get hands-on with real client branding projects from your first week
  • Help research and build the references and moodboards that shape early identity concepts
  • Explore logo ideas, typography, colour and graphic systems, with guidance at every step
  • Help apply identities across brand assets, from guidelines and templates to social and launch materials
  • Use AI tools every day to research, explore ideas, generate imagery and speed up production
  • Test new AI tools as they appear, and share what you discover with the team
  • Join in Pony's own AI experiments, from custom image models to internal tools
  • Take part in critiques and creative reviews, and share your ideas from day one

What matters most

We care far more about potential than polish.

  • Ambition and drive. You want to be great at this, and you're prepared to put the work in to get there.
  • Real, visible curiosity about AI. Show us what you've tried: experiments, side projects, tools you've tested, things you've made, broken and figured out.
  • An eye for brand and taste. You notice great typography, you have opinions about identities and you want to understand why things work.
  • A hunger to learn. You ask questions, welcome feedback and get better fast.
  • Self-motivation. You push yourself without waiting to be pushed.
  • Resourcefulness. If you don't know how to do something, you go and find out.
  • A genuine interest in technology and the companies building it, from AI and fintech to deep tech and blockchain.
  • Some familiarity with Figma or Adobe tools. We'll teach you the rest.

You don't need experience, and you don't need a degree. We care about what you can show us, not what or where you studied, or whether you went to university at all.

This role is right for you if

  • You're a recent graduate, self-taught, or right at the start of your design career
  • You've been playing with AI tools because you couldn't resist, not because someone told you to
  • You go down rabbit holes on new tools, models and techniques, and come back with something useful
  • You care about taste, and you know AI is only as good as the eye directing it
  • You're hungry to learn and happy to be pushed
  • You'd rather ask a question than sit on a problem
  • You want real responsibility and real work, not busywork
  • You love design, brands and technology, and want to build a career where they meet
  • You want every project to be better than the last

The internship

  • Paid: £100 to £125 per day, paid monthly.
  • Length: minimum 8 weeks, full-time, starting Dec 2026.
  • Where: three days a week in our studio at Design District and two days remote.
  • Learning: a dedicated mentor, regular one-to-ones and honest feedback throughout, plus a portfolio review at the end.
  • What's next: depending on your performance and what you show us, the internship may lead to a full-time role at Pony.

What you'll get

  • A dedicated mentor and regular, honest feedback
  • The chance to learn directly from Pony's founders and senior designers
  • Hands-on training in how a senior studio uses AI on real projects
  • Real client work for ambitious international technology brands, and real work for your portfolio
  • A portfolio review at the end of your internship
  • A clear route to a full-time role for the right person
  • A paid internship
  • Flexible working hours
  • A beautiful riverside studio in Design District
  • The freedom to experiment with new tools and help shape how Pony uses AI
