The role

ABOUT SUPERVSN

SUPERVSN is a Los Angeles creative house and apparel brand connecting fashion, art, and community through original product, storytelling, and collaborations. Our work spans our own retail and online collections, along with agency, consultancy, and client projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a versatile Apparel & Graphic Designer with an artistic background and a distinct creative point of view.

Working directly with the Creative Director, you’ll develop original concepts and translate creative direction into finished apparel designs across SUPERVSN and the studio’s agency portfolio. The work spans research, graphics, garment design, tech packs, and sample review.

This role suits someone who enjoys a hands-on creative environment, contributes ideas, and can move a project forward independently.

DESIGN & CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

  • Translate conversations, sketches, and references into mood boards, original graphics, color stories, garment mockups, and coordinated assortments.
  • Design across tees, fleece, headwear, and select accessories.
  • Research art, vintage garments, fabrics, trims, and the design archive to bring fresh ideas to each project.
  • Rework proven designs through thoughtful colorways, artwork placements, and product updates.
  • Present clear design options and recommendations during creative reviews.

BRAND, COLLABORATION & CLIENT PROJECTS

  • Develop designs for SUPERVSN retail and online releases, STUDIO and wholesale collections, collaborations, and agency clients.
  • Adapt to different brand identities, partner guidelines, and levels of creative direction.
  • Prepare concept presentations, line sheets, and approval submissions.
  • Manage revisions and approvals across multiple active projects.

TECH PACKS & SAMPLE DEVELOPMENT

  • Build complete, production-ready tech packs covering artwork, measurements, placements, color references, decoration methods, materials, and trims.
  • Review samples against approved designs and tech packs, document corrections, and communicate revisions clearly.
  • Carry technical design through sample review and approval within agreed timelines and target costs.
  • When approved outside technical-design support is needed, prepare clear handoffs and oversee accuracy, revisions, and final delivery.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Four or more years of apparel or graphic design experience, or a portfolio demonstrating equivalent ability, including work that reached sampling or production.
  • An artistic background through formal training or an active personal practice, with original work that reflects your perspective.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong typography, color, and composition skills.
  • Working knowledge of apparel blanks, fabrics, screen printing, embroidery, and other decoration processes.
  • Strong tech pack skills, supported by examples that have successfully gone into production.
  • Initiative, clear communication, and the ability to develop a creative director’s vision while contributing your own ideas.
  • Experience managing several projects through revisions, approvals, and delivery.
  • Agency, client, or licensed-product experience is a plus.

LOCATION & RETAINER DETAILS

This is a Los Angeles–based role on an ongoing monthly retainer, with defined capacity across SUPERVSN brand and studio agency projects. Agency and client work are part of the core scope.

A workspace is available at the Slauson office, with regular in-person design and product reviews. Availability for local meetings with the Creative Director at partner offices, print shops, and other project locations is required.

The monthly fee, weekly commitment, on-site schedule, and initial term will be agreed before starting. Active briefs, deliverables, and deadlines will be aligned monthly.

Email your resume, portfolio, and a brief introduction to [email protected].

  • Two or three relevant projects, outlining your role in each.
